Detector Integration and Machine-Detector Interface

The ILD detector is one of the two detector concepts under investigation for the ILC. While the design of the detector, as described in the ILC Technical Design Report, is motivated by the physics requirements, quite some effort is being invested in an engineering model that resembles the mechanical and technical boundary conditions in the specific ILC environment. This is an international effort that is being pursued within the worldwide distributed ILD concept group. At DESY, specific work is being done on the detector integration efforts, the site-specific design for an ILD in Kitakami (Japan), the design of the detector magnet and iron yoke, and the Machine-Detector Interface.
